The Australia Vacation ~ Part 2

Day 2 @ Gold Coast.

Educational. Aquatic. Breath-taking. All these terms are what I would describe Sea World. Yes, we went to our 1st theme park for the vacation.

Marine Life has never been so up close & personal and for now, I believed Sea World has what it has got to offer. From some thrill rides to animal shows, Sea World is for everyone, kids and adults alike.

We went to 'The World of Sea Aquarium'. Oh, did I mention a turtle with a long neck? Yes, it was amazing. This attraction was really educational, providing some knowledge on how important coral reefs are, life can actually exist in rubbish dumps and even displaying the life cycles of sharks.

Next, we found ourselves watching a show put up by the sea lions at the 'Fish Detectives Sea lion Show'. Quite entertaining though, as the sea lions put up a great show! More exploration at the 'Shark Bay' and 'Polar Bear Shores', which took up almost half a day. A breath-taking experience at the 'Shark Bay', as there was an underwater aquarium exhibiting the marine life.

A fun, relaxing and educational day at Sea World had left me wanting more out of this vacation and expecting even more fun days ahead! More to come soon...

Hell yeah! I'm back from a great break in Australia! A week long vacation is really well-deserved, given the fact that I've been working really hard for the past year plus. Now, presenting to you the sights & sounds of this fantastic trip!

Day 1
I went on this vacation trip with my sis and her friends. It was meant to be their graduation trip :P Anyway, we departed for Darwin the night before, so we reached there in the wee hours of the morning. Darwin served as our point of transit. After which, we continued our journey to Brisbane Domestic Airport. Wow, Brisbane was pretty chilly, as it was autumn already! However, Brisbane was not our final destination in Queensland. We took the air train to Gold Coast, and eventually arrived at the door-step of our vacation apartment! Cool, we finally reached Gold Coast after close to 10 hours! The apartment was quite large, albeit a bit old and run-down. The thing i love about our apartment was the scenic view of the river and the view of Gold Coast beaches a distance away =)

Our next stop on the itinerary: Gold Coast City Arts Centre. We would be walking there, as it was a short distance away. Although the weather has turned for the worse(it had started raining...), we decided to go ahead with it. As the rain had not abated, we stopped at a pastry shop to have tea-break, as we did not lunch prior to the arrival at the apartment. We had apple lattice and green tea. What a great combination for tea-break.

Reaching Gold Coast City Arts Centre had left us totally drenched. Yes, it was still raining cats and dogs outside... I have never exactly appreciated the beauty of art-pieces, but it was still an experience to expose ourselves to the arts. An excellent place to begin slowing down our paces, away from the fast-paced lifestyle we have in Singapore.

Alright, shall we take a breather? Too much happenings during this 1 week vacation, so I shall pen down the rest in the subsequent entries :P

Oh my. Didn't realise it's been so long since I've last blogged??? Anyway, presenting the 1st post of the year 2009 :P

Girls Aloud's 'Life got cold' kind of describes my current life, I guess. As the song goes, "My life got cold, it happened many years ago, when summer slipped away... So chill out whoa, we've got many years to go, so take it day by day...'

Updating on my current status.. hehe... Regarding NS so far, pretty ok now, but can't wait for another 11 months to ORD. Sure, time will fly pretty quickly. Also keeping my options open regarding tertiary studies.

I must agree with what Ronan Keating sang in his song 'Life is a rollercoaster'. 2008 has been a blended year of ups & down, just like taking a ride in the nerve-wrecking roller coaster.

The 1st quarter of the year began well, I must say.. With a satisfying temporary job assignment @ SGH pharmacy and unexpected yet great 'A' Level results, what more can I ask? I must thank GOD for these best birthday gifts I've ever received this year.

For the subsequent months, it was a horrible period. Yes, going through BMT sounds like nothing now, but I cannot imagine that I could pull through the seemingly long 2 months. I cannot believe that I could pass through 2-weeks confinement, field camp, SOC & IPPT with Gold.

Things turn for the better now, as 2008 ends with a promotion for me. In a way, you will feel that your contributions are appreciated and get rewarded for that.

Nothing to look forward to in 2009, as I guess it will probably a busy year for me. Nevertheless, I hope it will remain a great year for me! Haha...

What a year!

In the music era, we saw the comeback of Britney Spears and her belting out of hit singles like 'Womanizer' which shot to No.1 within days, Madonna chilling out with Justin Timerlake in '4 minutes', Duffy begging for 'Mercy' in this Sex & the City soundtrack and Katy Perry giving us the 'Hot & Cold' side of her.

In the entertainment era, we saw the final reunion of the kids in 'High School Musical 3 : Senior Year', plenty of Walt Disney shows such as 'Bolt' and the fair share of comedies like 'Get Smart'. Closer to home, we had the champion drama serial '小娘惹', causing many to hog the TV screen.

Yes, I've got my own faves for the year 2008!

This week was a great & relaxing week :P

Tuesday was RSAF 40th Anniversary Cohesion & Games Day. My colleagues & I had tremendous fun together, so I believed the time spent mingling together was worth it. I enjoyed much as it was a day of not thinking about work and all that.

Friday was AMD's (Air Manpower) Lifestyle Day. We had a walk all the way to Hort Park (near Harbourfront/Bukit Merah) and back to Harbourfront again. After which, lunch was spent with HAM(Head of Air Manpower) and I agree it was an insightful session :)

All in all, a fabulous week spent :P

Yesterday evening was spent differently. I had dinner at Long Beach Seafood Restaurant at East Coast Park with my colleagues to celebrate a colleague's birthday. The food was good, so no complaints whatsoever. Didn't realize there were 2 restaurants with the same name, so it's kind of misleading. Nevertheless, the one we went to were damn far, so yup.

I know it's kind of late, but I went to catch High School Musical 3: Senior Year today. This reminds me of the times in JC and probably secondary school as well. Graduation from BNSS and MJC left me with plenty of memories, which I guess the movie is trying to portray that fact as well. Nonetheless, it's still worth watching, though I prefer the 1st instalment :x

A Japanese Affair..

Last week has gotten me so busy and up to my neck. What a start to the 1st week of this month :x Audit is approaching as it's just next week, so loads of stuffs to clear and make sure that things are in order... Thank God things are roughly completed, so hopefully the audit will turn out fine.. haha...

Yesterday was a totally Japanese affair!

Lunch at Kuishin Bo at Suntec City with my air force frenz. It's been a month since I last saw them! Enjoying much of their company for most of the afternoon and we went to bowl at Marina Square after which :)

Dinner with my family at Sakae Sushi as well.

Wow! A Japanese affair to end this busy week! Cya then =)

I know this's a bit late, but I finally managed to catch the highly anticipated Japanese movie '20th Century Boys', which broke the Jap box office record held previously by 'Death Note'..This movie is splendid! I cannot fathom why our local movie critics gave such low ratings? '20th Century Boys' simply create so much suspense that I can't wait to catch the next instalment of this trilogy!! AHHH~

Another movie to catch will be 'High School Musical 3'!! hehe... :P

The past few months have been a little unthinkable as I pondered how I could ever tide through this previous 'storm'. Well, it's already over and right now, a new phase has begun, leaving me in a moment of apprehension and excitement.

Hopefully, my path in the jungle will be better cleared of sand, stones and soil so that i'll see a smoother road/journey ahead.

Wow, just realized that i haven't update in ages..

Been going through a rough patch so far, and I hope this ordeal will be over soon.

On the bright side, I tried forking out some time to watch some movies over the past few weekends. Out of the 3 movies I've watched, Batman: The Dark Knight was awesome, fabulous and it got me glued to the screen. I'm impressed by Ledger's last role performance as The Joker. The rest of the characters have also portrayed their roles fantastically well too.

Hellboy 2 was good to watch as well and Hancock was for one who just wanna watch Will Smith's great acting after his last movie 'I am Legend'...

Many other movies coming up, such as The X files, The Mummy, Journey to the Center of the Earth! Ahhh, I wanna catch all of them!

Call me Private Ong. Yes, I've finally passed out after 2 months of BMT at Tekong... Gosh, can't believe that I can kiss goodbye to that island for now. Can't believe many many things that I've gone through all this while...

Can't believe I can survive...

1. 2 weeks confinement.

2. FIELD CAMP. It's like oh my god.

3. SOC. Running 600m with the rifle and LBV is worse than running 2.4km.

4. IPPT. It's freaking surprising that I obtained GOLD and I could finish 2.4km in 9:42 min!

5. Route marches :/ Imagine walking for 24km?

6. Can't think of any at the moment :P

Right now, there is approximately 1+ week of block leave before I get posted to a new unit. Hopefully, I get posted to somewhere where the training is not so vigorous...

Whoa! 3 weeks since I have last blogged!

FINALLY. FIELD CAMP IS OVER. *phew* Hated it. Loathe it. Thank God that I completed it. It's sickening. It's disgusting. Can't wait for 10 JUNE. The passing out parade & I can kiss goodbye to Tekong. arrgghh.... 3 more weeks!!!

K... Enough of those whining.. hahas....

Anyway, went for the medicine interviews and guess i screwed them up big time. And i pray that I'll still have the chance to enter medicine though :/ Probably will know the result by next week bah...

BOOK-OUT !!!

FINALLY, I'm back from 2 hellish weeks of confinement in NS at the place known as Tekong... ... I can't believe that I survived through these 2 horrendous weeks & I'm starting to countdown to the end of BMT... 7 more weeks!!! and bye to Tekong after that!!! Quite fortunate to have nice, get-along army mates as well, and partly the reason as to how I can pull through the last 2 weeks without going home...

Ok, on the brighter side, there are good news to share! I'm offered a place at NTU to study the double-degree programme, Biomedical Sciences & Chinese Medicine! YAY =)

I'm also short-listed for medicine @ NUS, but have to go through 2 interviews & a selection test in order to get into medicine! Oh god, I do hope I can enter medicine!

It's been 4 days since the release of the 'A' Levels results. Well, I can say that it's such a pleasant surprise in 12 years of education. I never thought that I could achieve such results, given that my prelim results were terrible.

Of course, it's time to move on. However, what is the suitable path to take? Am I able to cope with the pressures & obstacles that I may be faced with in those paths? Seriously, I'm at the crossroads. I'm not even sure of the future... I'm not sure if I'll be even more independent, self-disciplined or driven to go 1 step higher...

Right now, I'm considering various options... Of course, I won't fancy courses such as those Arts courses, because I know that's not my cup of tea... I'm aiming for medical-related or science-related courses, as I know that's the path I'll take in the future...

Lastly, it's not entirely my effort in the pursuit of good results... I'm thankful for the dedication & hard work that our tutors had put in! Thanks :)

两天前（28号）是个重要的日子吧。那是因为我在新加坡中央医院，已经作了一个月的工。有点心奋，没想到能达到这个目标，因为我在上一次的工作，只是花了差不多两个星期的时间。

下个星期是'A' 水准的成绩发布日。当然会有点紧张，不晓得会考得怎样？应该会很烂吧，因为在我的 Prelims考试，我没考的很理想：（

哈哈，我想看日本的新电影, L:Change the World！好像很好看！

A week of my new job

A week has almost passed! I've taken up a new job offer at Singapore General Hospital as Temporary Pharmacy Assistant, and though there are pretty many things to learn in one short, I've to admit that it's slightly better than the 1st job at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Of course, life is more hectic at the 2nd job, as there are patients/customers to deal with, especially at peak hours. Haiz, sometimes, I think studying beats working hands down.

And what a coincidence!! I saw my 4E cum MJC friend, YiRong, at the pharmacy today! She's doing some surveying for SingHealth, I think, hahas.

Hopefully, life at my 2nd job will go smoothly as ever.

啊，我想这是无可避免的事情。当然，大家一定会感到紧张，一定会胡思乱想。

2 年前，我还记得自己无法入眠，心跳的太快了，感觉自己差一点无法呼吸！哈哈，太夸张了 :D

看到成绩以后，难免感到失望。对，失望，这两个字 :(

Nothing's happening much these days... It's just like a monotonous life. ya, boring and such... no surprises to expect or anything.

Ok, maybe 1... I've quitted my current job at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Shocking? Perhaps, perhaps not. Well, I've decided to take up another job offer, which I think suits me better, and maybe it may be beneficial to me in the near future. Will tell more details next time :X hahas.

Went out with the 305 peeps on Tuesday, 9th Jan. I guess only a few came for the dinner... There were the enlisted-this-week NS guys, including Danson, Edison, Sunny and also many others which included Chris, Diana, Doris, Galvyn, Sabrina and Valerie. Quite a few came though, there were only 10 altogether.

Well, this dinner was meant to send off the NS guys this month. Some like Arrifin & Sharaf were already enlisted last month. Too bad they can't join us for this dinner =(

Anyway, we went to Fish & Co. I had grilled fish! Yummy, haha...

My post of the year 2008!

Since this is the new year which mark new beginnings, I've changed my blog address & my blog skin!

Talking about this blogskin, it's the toughest, yet the most challenging to do. I've spent at least 3 freaking hours to make damn many adjustments! This is a far cry from the usual <1 hour required to change the previous 12 blogskins. I'm quite pleased with this new accomplishment =)

在上星期日举办的红星大奖2007 年，我终于看到让我非常开心的结果!

首先，我支持的本地艺人，林湘萍，她终于拿到 “最佳女主角”的奖项。这是她十年来获得第三次的奖。我为她感到有点遗憾，因为她的演技很好，可惜总是与得奖无缘。。。可是，湘萍终于得到了。。就是新加坡的新影后！！

非常喜欢湘萍的致谢词：“从台下到台上不到一分钟，这段路我已经走了十年。。。那些批评我的人，谢谢你们给我力量做的更好，请继续批评我。” 我太佩服湘萍坚持到底的精神！

第二，另一个喜欢的艺人，李锦梅，也终于得到“十大最受欢迎女艺人”! 三年没得到十大了，今年终于得到了！！恭喜，恭喜！我真的没想到她会得奖喔！

好兴奋我支持的两位艺人没有空手而归！

Wow, it has been 1+ month since I've last posted... Well, nothing's up these days, and I feel kind of bored, but I just don't feel like looking for a job as yet... Call me lazy, but who cares? I'm just trying to rest as much as I can, before I feel ready to take up new challenges that are awaiting me in the near future~

Somehow, I missed the study life... Right now, after the A levels, there are no more holiday assignments which usually keep me occupied for the holidays.. It now feels weird when there's nothing on my hand during this LONG holidays...

Oh, Sunday (16th December) was a day of unexpected but pleasant surprises!!

Firstly, it's definitely the Asian Idol. Honestly, I did not expect Hady Mirza to win Asian Idol, as I feel his performances are not as outstanding as the others...

I'm back from a long hiatus, because of A levels...

Well, I can say the papers so far are a fair paper... it's pretty manageable, except for Maths Paper 1, which is the only paper that I cannot finish :(

Completed all the H1 subjects and Maths =) Now, left with Chem & Bio! 4 more papers, and it's the end of A levels soon!!!

It's been 6 days since I've touched any single work or notes to revise.. I've been slacking after last mon's Chem Papers and Maths P2... Well, that's not really a record but I guess we'll not have that much time to slack when tomorrow starts, as we'll have to start our engines again and work at >100% speed for the impending As which is just a month away..

As for the prelims, I guess I'll score real BADLY. I'm pretty sure, very, very SURE. Honestly, I hope I'll not fail any subject, but I guess that's impossible because I screwed Maths papers, so that's like confirmed that I'll fail.

Finally, I'm left with only Chem P1&2, Maths P2 and Bio P1!!! This week of exams have left me totally exhausted, both mentally and physically. How were the papers??

The papers arr... Some were of manageable standard, I guess. Chem P3, I think, was much better than the mid-yrs, as I managed to spread out the time evenly for each question, though I did not complete it.

Bio P2 had taken me by a GREAT surprise, as most structured questions are application-types, onlt the essay was easier to do. I think I'm not going to fare well for it. So, I hope P3 will pull up my grades. Today's P3 was much better than the mid-yrs too.

MATHS P1 KILLED ME. DEFINITELY. I'm pretty sure I'll fail it, man. Most questions are blanks, so yup.

Prelims is just about 4 days away, and I've yet completed my revision.

I can't stop pondering on the GP exam which was taken 2 days ago, because I seriously think my essay wasn't well-written and my comprehension wasn't well-answered as well.

My revision was half-completed for chem and maths, and I've yet started on geo! Less than 4 days to complete everything, I'm really in deep trouble.. AHHHH~~

GP Prelims 2007 :(

Today was the General Paper Prelims. I think it's slightly tougher than the mid-years, but I hope I'll do fine? I certainly hope so.

I had difficulty in choosing the essay question to write, as all the questions seem tough to me or that I was unable to generate the points for that particular question. In the end, I chose the question on Singapore, as there's a narrow scope. I managed to generate some points, but was unsure if what I wrote are relevant and valid or not. I hope I did not write out of point!

Paper 2 Compre was quite tough too, except for the summary. I don't know how to answer some questions and the Application Question was tedious as there are so many parts to answer.

I hope I'll pass this paper...

I just want to thank all my JC teachers... I guess we had fun as a CG and the concert items featuring our GP and Maths tutors are highly entertaining. I enjoyed them... and not forgetting my secondary school teachers, though I did not go back to my secondary school, I appreciate all your teachings... Of course, any teacher who has impacted my life in some ways or another, thanks =)

Heiya, Been on a hiatus for 2 wks! haha... Let's see...

Went to Beijing during the National Day holiday, so I managed to do most of the sch work before going off to enjoy... This is my 1st time missing the National Day Celebrations on TV..

Well, the worst thing was, I got ill when I came back to Singapore, so I had to miss 2 days of lessons. Luckily I did not miss much, or else... ...

Will give my experiences during the Beijing Trip the next time :)

So-called last wk of sch, cos of study leave next wk, YES!! but... the thing is, prelims r approaching & I've little confidence to do the papers well & score fantastic grades... We shall see then..

Yoga Day..

Whoo hoo! I'm back! hehe... Had my 1st & last yoga session today... Well, u muz be wondering y am I doing yoga, but hey there r guys doing yoga too! Anyway, there r supposed to be 2 sessions, but I can't make it next week cos I'll be MIA (missing in action) ... Cos of that, I've to do 1 make-up PE lesson :( One reason y I'm a little unhappy, cos I've not done PE for AGES.

Anyway, back to yoga. We did lots of stretching, and I could feel my muscles r aching, cos of lack of any physical activity for weeks! Well, the session is quite ok, considering the fact that I'm doing something that is 'physically challenging'.. haha...

Lots of tests coming up too, and the homework r also slowing piling up... Gosh, Prelims r juz 4 weeks away!! AHHHH~

Yo! Been up to my neck these days because of the piling homework every single day that my hands are soon to be worn out and become non-functional anytime! I've been writing so much these days, and also must write in the fastest time possible!

Nothing going on, since Prelims and 'A's are reaching near, and I'm really unsure of whether I'll get those 'A's when I'm getting my results next year.

Anyway, I've listening to Stephanie Sun's not-so-new single '逆光' and I really love it a lot! Haha...

Term 3 2007. Yes, these r one of my worst times in my life. I never felt like I'm losing my breath and perhaps, my mind.

Of course, the term started off with the mid-yr exams. Oh, the results r terrible, despite the fact that I failed only 1 subject this time, and it's maths again. A sub-pass. All borderline results and that got me deeply concerned. Even the teachers r also very, very concerned about our results.

What's wrong with the papers? Nothing's wrong, they r definitely manageable. I guess it's probably due to time management. How fast I can handle a question. Yes, that's why I screwed up Chem Paper 3. I managed to pass overall, all because I did well for my Paper 2.

I counted my A lvl points and it's only 45 points. I guess the maximum is 80 points. Ok, at least it's slightly better than the March Block Tests, considering the fact that the block tests exclude Paper 3 for the sciences and only 1 paper for maths. However, I actually targetted at least 50 points. Quite close.

Anyway, this term is gna be my worst times ever. With all the revision programmes going on and maybe quizzes and the ever-so-long timetable, I'll probably have less time for my own revision and maybe lesser entertainment. I'm ok with lesser entertainment, considering the fact that I've not used my computer for the past week.

Yup, I'll probably not update so soon the next time round. There's not enough time...

Today, I did not go to school :( I was sick... Yesterday, I even had a high fever of 39.5 oC. Of course that's not my highest. When I was younger, I had temperature as high as 40+ oC.

So missed 4 lessons today, namely GP, Bio, Math tut & lecture. Luckily not much is missed, so I was kinda lucky that I took MC today & not on other days =P

FINALLY! phew... ... An end to the 1 week+ long of exams! I can't believe that it's finally over... but of course, that's not the end. There r still 2 more major exams to go: Prelims & A lvls...

Anyway, here's my analysis of the final 2 papers:
Chem: P3 is a killer, so I hope I'll pass anyway. Couldn't finish the paper at all, leave quite a lot of blanks. P1 MCQ, I juz guess the answers for some questions :P P2 is the best paper, though I did not complete, but at least I feel it's quite manageable.

Bio: P1,P2,P3 are all manageable. Able to do most questions.

Expected grades for both: C

Hey! Here I am again after 1 wk of mid-year exams!! Whoo hoo! Can't believe that I can actually tide through this long week...

Anyway, so far, I've juz completed Geo & Maths full papers... Left with Chem P1 & P2 & Bio P3, all to be finished in 1 day!! Oh god, wat a way to clash exams & end this mid-years :x

Hey, I'm back from H1 Geography Paper! 3 hrs long, and I thought I should rest a little before starting on my so-called final revision on Chem Paper 3 tmr. This is my analysis of the Geo paper today:

Data-response Questions (DRQ) are quite tough, for some only. I think essays are better, though there r few examples that I've written due to lack of time.
Expected grade: D or E [at least a pass & please END the string of failures!]

Today is the 2nd last day of JUNE holidays. I'm dismayed. Partly due to not enough enjoyment, as mid-yrs r round the corner... Speed quite slow, but at least I managed to complete Chem. Oh I haven't started maths. Wow. Congrats. The maths exam is juz on next wed, only barely 4 days away.

Oh, I'm SO excited for the 2ND SEASON OF GHOST WHISPERER!!!! COOL~ I watched the 1st episode yesterday, and it's still as great as the last season!

2 weeks of holidays have passed like a blink! Wow, how time really flies! Did nothing much these days also, cos I've been watching too much TV, so lots of time spent there.. hehe.. I've been trying to start the ball rolling, but the motivation is not there, so yup.

Oh, I tried the 'Whatever' & 'Anything' drinks during the weekend... The taste seems a little like those 7-up, sprite, green tea kind...

My god... 1 week of holidays has passed and I've not done much things.. Let me see... I was spending 4 days continously for revision of GP and reading quite a bit before GP exam last tues. Talking about GP exam, guess I screwed it up?

Here's my analysis for GP:
P1.. I realised I wrote something wrong, but it's a minor mistake, hopefully the marker does not notice it... hehe.. P2.. It's quite tough, although I may have time to complete the paper.
Expected grade: Either 'D' or 'E' [considering it to be quite a difficult paper]

So, I did nothing for the rest of last tues and whole of wed. 'Great'.. Time wasted on nothing constructive. I guess I only revised 1 chapter of Chem last thurs, coincidentally Vesak Day. Well, I watched the Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest [the 2nd one] on VCD, so that explains for that 1 chapter. =_=""

Last fri was Medical checkup. Once again, I did nothing for the rest of the day. The last weekend was not spent wisely too.

Hopefully, I could do more things this week.

MJ lost in the soccer finals yesterday to RJC. Of course, I can see the BIG effort of our soccer boys trying to score goals. There r plenty of opportunities to draw or win this crucial match. I was dismayed when I saw RJC won the goal. I was hoping that I saw wrongly or must have been in my dreams at the moment.

Well, we are 2nd AGAIN. I'm so, so, so hoping that MJ soccer team will be in the finals again next year and be CHAMPIONS! I know we'll be in the finals, I'm sure we can do it!

And ONE particular mosquito flied to my skin & try to suck blood out from me. Oh, so sorry, mosquito! The host (which is me) disallowed that. Errm, ok, I know this going to sound like science.

Hey, been on a hiatus. Well, things have sort of stabilized, I guess. Last week was a crazy week, with 3 tests at one go. Chem, Maths & Bio. I've gotten back chem test, and I muz say that I'm quite pleased :P

Anyway, I was called up for the 'Max Meridian' challenge, whereby the top 15 students in the cohort are 'invited' to compete against each other in that particular station. I only competed in 'sit-up'. Well, neither did I break the school record held for 3 years nor did I managed to beat the others. Hmm... a little disappointed though, but also happy as well, cos I beat my own personal record. Anyway, it's an opportunity that doesn't come easily, especially since this is considered the last year, whereby we've NAPFA test.

NAPFA Test & PW!!

Hey! Wat a day to blog! Cos it's Friday the 13th!! hehe... No, I'm not particularly superstitious or anything, but it's such a coincidence that the A Lvls PW (Project Work) results came out this morning! Seriously, I didn't noe that the results were out todae! Well, MJC did very well!!! I think abt half of the population obtained distinctions? Whee~ at least a distinction! Chinese did not obtain distinction, so a consolation there, from PW... haha...

Anywae, enough of results.

Yesterday was a BLOODY day. Why? The boys had NAPFA test & we had to take ALL 6 Stations within 1 PE period!!! Wha, can u imagine how tiring that is!!!!!!!! So, I did not fare as well as last's yr's scores, maybe cos the requirement is more demanding for an 18 yr old than a 17 yr old & perhaps I did not train hard enough... Wateva the reasons may be, at least I BROKE 2 OF MY OWN RECORDS!!!

I did 63 sit-ups, which is a far cry from last yr's score of 52 sit-ups! YAY!!!

I also exceeded my standing broad jump's score! At my 1st try, I jumped 240+ cm... Guess what? At the 2nd try, I jumped 252 cm!!! YAY!!!

Sit & reach & shuttle run fared badly this yr, though I managed to meet the 'C' grade for these 2 stations, which allowed me to get Gold. Pull-ups was the same as last yr. 2.4Km sux, but maybe could obtain a 'C' for that.

Wat a tiring week. At least, I'm happy for now.

Hmm.. got back all the block tests, kinda expect the kind of results, but didn't imagine that they can be as worse as they get. So, I tried to tell myself that I deserved it as I studied the week before. BUT I CAN'T.

My god. From this week onwards, we r gna get back results & I'm so, so, so NOT looking forwad to that. And... new timetable! My god, 4 maths lectures! 3 lectures for both chem & bio! Bio prac is now on mon, instead of thurs! NO~~~ This means lesser time to study for bio SPA! haiz... ...

I'm so not looking forward to term 2. The lectures will be worse, cos everything is to be taught by the end of the term.

Block Tests - Reflection...

Block Tests FINALLY end today! A sense of relief definitely, but that's not the end of the exam adrenaline & the culminating stress... This is juz the beginning... The ultimate goal is still the *ahem* at the end of this year... After that, the so-called freedom! haha... of course this is juz 1 stage in life... We'll live to survive life's obstacles & enjoy life as well... ...

Ok, enough of that preaching, I guess. Well, I'm gna reflect on this term's block tests & really, they are a rough gauge of where I stand & how I'm gna fare for A lvls..

1. GP
Err... The 1st paper taken last mon, during holidays. Seriously, I dun have faith in my GP at all. Paper 1 was relatively ok, BUT I juz pick a question that I think I can do it, as all the questions are of equal difficulty. Paper 2's application question is definitely a can-do, but not those other questions & vocab. My god, when am I gna OWN GP???!!???
Expected grade: E [if lucky, probably D. GP is never my strength anyway.]

2. Geography
Dun ask me how I think I'm gna fare for geo, cos I studied geo only the night before!! Managed to finish 23!!! topics in 3 hrs IS NEVER EVER DONE BEFORE IN MY WHOLE LIFE!!! The questions are ok, but dun think I'll get so many marks anyway.
Expected grade: E [expecting to be the same grade as promos]

3. Biology
OMG!!! Structured was tough, I admit. MCQ too. That's it.
Expected grade: D [if possible, then C]

4. Chemistry
This is the best paper by far. Ok, except for the BLOODY fact that I thought I finished all questions, but forgot that's still 1 more part to the last question of structured! =X
Expected grade: C [if possible, then B]

5. Maths
Dun ask me anything. This paper gave me uncertainity.
Expected grade: D or E [hopefully I pass...]

Hey! I'm back! I'm left wif 1 last paper to go and it's my weakest H2 subject ever! Guess it's even weaker than my supposedly weak Geography! Yes, I'm gna introduce Mathematics!! Arrgh.... I still haven't passed a single maths test & I'm really at a loss as to wat I should do & how I'm gna improve in like, within a day! =.= Not possible though...

Really, I wonder abt this sometimes... It's different when I do subjects like Bio & Chem. I dun understand something, it's ok, cos over time,I know that I'll somehow understand. Wat am i doing here when I should be spending the quality time to revise for block tests?? Haiz... I think I won't be able to finish studying anyway... For my time in MJ, I've never felt so unprepared for exams & tests.. Everything is so last-minute, I studied for my exams & tests at the eleventh hr =X Omg... Well, I've been doing nothing for the past few days... Really, I've not touched a single thing until today when I juz started revising for block tests... Arrgh! Can't enjoy much during this really short holiday!

Anywae, I went back to sch for CIP.. The MJC Games Convention thingy... Going to be held on last wkend of April... Cool! I've learnt how to play 5 games! Really, I've seriously not seen them before! All right, I shall blog today.

Last fri was the release of the A lvls results! Ok, MJ did well. We obtained almost doubled the students getting 3 or 4 distinctions!! Wat a feat for a young jc like us! So, we were in the LT gracing the event of the release... So i thought to myself: Imagine how it'll be like 1 year from now?? Will I do as well as those who received the results from Ms Lai? Haiz... I dun even dare to think how it's like... Cos I received the Chinese results too... Pretty decent grade... At least this time round, I did not obtained juz a pass for oral, unlike the O lvls...

I'm feeling slightly down still. I felt like giving up at times, but I noe I WON'T!! I have to change the destiny, fate lying in my hands!

Finally, I turned 18 on Wed, which is also Valentine's Day :) WHEE~ Of course, turning 18 this year means new challenges ahead, like March block tests, mid-years, prelims and... A LVLS! Somehow, I wonder if it's great to be older, as u'll have more freedom.. Well, wateva the ans may be, I juz wish myself and everyone else all the best in your studies!

Ok, thurs, I had Bio SPA.. Pretty decent though, nothing surprising, except that it'll be better if I've the time to do the experiment, at least to confirm my ans.. Anywae, after Bio SPA, I went wif my frenz, Sarly, Esther & Yi Rong to my ex-sch, BNSS for the CNY fiesta the sch has held. When we went back, I thought the atmosphere was really great, but after that I began to realise that the students r super rowdy. Wat a disgrace to the ex-students. And I heard from my tchers that the O lvls batch after us did worse than us and my batch is still the BEST batch ever!!! :]

After the noisy fiesta, I went to Marina Bay wif some frenz... I noe it's kinda late, it's already 8.30PM when we set off... So, by the time we reached Marina Bay, it's already like 9.30PM! haha... Then we pondered on wat to eat and realise that it's getting late & I need to go off soon.. So, we decided to dine at Mac's for a super late dinner..

Wat a concidence. I even saw Yuyang from Campus Superstar at Mac's. haha...

After which, we sat down somewhere to play some games.. I noe it's damn late, but since this's only a gathering we can have in ages, I thought y not enjoy as much as we can? So, I only went off at 11+ and by the time I reached home, it's already 12 MIDNIGHT!! haha... never in my whole life, I came home super late! but.. it's kinda fun too!

Fri is CNY celebrations. Pretty decent though. Anywae, on the last note, I'm here to wish all A HAPPY & PROSPEROUS CHINESE NEW YEAR!!! Hope all have a good year ahead!!!!

Thank god, it's FRIDAY!!!

The week ends pretty ok, yes, 3 horrendous tests r finally over :] However, I'm pretty sure I'm gna score real bad this time round. Definitely. Chem, Maths & Geo... Out of the 3, I'm pretty fine wif geo... Maths was a killer, cos I could not finish the test on time, and I made lots of mistakes, really a lot. So, it's gna be a fail, I'm certain of that. Chem was alrite, but guess it's not gna be a good result.

Ok, this weekend's gna be pretty relaxing for me, cos the Project Superstar Grand Finals is this sun!! :) Finally! I've been anticipating for this date for so long! Yay, TV time :] Ok, in my opinion, I feel that the weekend is relaxing cos of TV... but there r hw for me to complete :[

Science Fiesta

Yesterday was Science Fiesta.. yup, got involved in Science Trail, whereby we performed intriguing expts for the J1s to enjoy.. Pretty fun though, esp when the J1s are pretty sporty & interactive and fun-loving to be with! So, I pretty much enjoyed the whole 3 hrs, which I initially thought it's gna be too long & boring, but on that day itself, I dun feel bored at all! Instead, I really enjoyed being part of Science Fiesta, cos somehow I felt accomplished!! :]

Not sure if I'm turning for Vic's birthdae party? Cos the fact that I've less time to study for 3 horrendous tests make me hesitant...

Wed was CCA.. so I knew some J1s.. powerful sia, these J1s.. They knew much more science than us... And after which, we introduced oueselves.. ok, I said something which is quite true.. I like doing things at my own pace, juz like a turtle life! haha.. so that explains something abt my new blog!

Wah, next week is packed wif 3 tests from tues-thurs!!! Tues - Chem, Wed - Maths & Thu - Geo!!! AAHHHH~ Wat a week! Really, there r plenty to finish studying for each subject, how the hell am I gna complete??

Anyway, tmr is Science Fiesta! hmm.. initially there r 2 expts which I was supposed to carry out lah... but both of them r taken up by the J1s! hehe... honestly, these 2 expts r pretty troublesome... well, I'm carrying out something simpler, nothing troublesome.. phew!

Seriously, there r so much work to be done + many tests to prepare for... WAT A WEEKEND INDEED!!

Heya, it's been 2 long weeks since I've last blogged! hehe... Anyway, J2 life doesn't come easy & I'm aware of the challenges ahead... I muz say the shortened timetable contributes a little bit of time for hw, as I seemed to complete more of my work, as compared to last year :) Nevertheless, I found that I still have little time for any revision :( Well, Tests r coming up soon in a week's time, and I've started on anything yet...

Right now, I suddenly dislike school. I'm ok wif the workload & continuous tests & all that, but I feel... ... hmm.. dunno use wat word to describe this complicated feeling. I juz live life as it is, never having to think abt y am I here & wat I should be doing? Yup. It's been at least a year that has passed, and I missed my 4E mates more than ever. Wonder if anyone going for the CNY fiesta at BN?

Ok, despite the fact that J2 is pretty a tough year, I managed to slot in some TV time, esp on wed & thurs! hehe.. I've been watching Project Superstar 2, and the one I supported has the same name as me & he became the male champion! =) Hope he'll be the overall champion!

Hey, my 1st post of 2007! Well, I guess I'll have to dedicate this post to the reopening of sch, which means I'm J2!! Hmm... I'm so not used to being called a J2 because I'm so used to being called a J1, like duh~ hahas...

Ok, school reopens... Basically, change in timings in timetable... earliest is 11.15am, latest 4.15pm... whoo hoo~ a far cry from last year's timetable. 2nd, change of teachers :( All my H2 subject tutors r changed, which means bye bye to Mr Yeow (Bio), Ms Ng (Chem) & Mr Soh (Maths)... haiz... My H1 contrasting subject tutor is also changed... 3rd, change in school policy this year.. no more "hand-holding", now independent learning.. which I find it slightly effective for me...

This year is a tough year, for sure, BUT I'LL SURVIVE!!!

2006 is not a smooth-sailing year for me, I know it. I've made decisions that r wrong. I lost my passion & fervor for things. I'm sick & tired of life.

Time really flies so fast. With the blinking of the eye, 2007 is about to arrive in 2hrs time.

I've posted wat I wanna post by tonite. Haiz... 2007 is gna be a tough year for me. After next year, probably, it'll be much better.

OMGosh... Yesterday, I was plain lucky to spot a beautiful rainbow as I looked out of the window, so quickly grabbed the cam & shot its beauty... Today, I went to watch James Bond: Casino Royale.. okk, it seems way late for me to watch, but who cares? There's nothing to watch anywae.. I can only say this movie is kinda draggy, it almost looks like a typical horror film... hmm.. it's been a week since I've blogged! hahas... U may think I'm pretty busy wif something these days, but u r wrong! Ok, not exactly busy... but I've spent like 2 days to pack my room... Now, I found it easier to get my things easily & it looks much neater.. That's the weekends for u..

Lemme date back to last mon to fri... The special day is tues when I went out wif frenz to celebrate Angela's birthday! We went to eat japanese food.. Yummy ^.^ After which, we wanted to have dessert & settle for ice-cream instead... the ice-cream is takeaway so we can eat by the esplanade (oops, I'm unsure of the spelling?)... and played a game! See the pic above? Yea, my sec sch frenz =) We took this together when we returned to sch during teachers' day.. I'm fortunate to have such frenz.. really felt blessed. Hmm... okk, there r some others, though not included in the pic, but I still wished to see u ppl again!

And... this pic! We took it todae!! hahas... though not clear, but can still see anywae... Whoa, todae, I think I spent like $30! Okk.. maybe not a lot to many, but this is the highest I've ever spent.. Nevertheless, it's a great day, a day of laughter & bonding.. I appreciate these times :) The funny thing is, we spent like almost an hr to look for pizza hut in the heart of the city, Orchard! hahas... but who cares? Been doing nothing these days... ok, maybe the 'nothing' refers to those horrendous holiday assignments piling up & waiting 4 me to 'eat' all of them up.. yes, I did something but nothing abt work, work & work! I spent my whole time solving sudoku puzzles, yes, that's my so-called new hobby, but it can be frustrating at times.. but other than that, I felt a sense of accomplishment when I solved the puzzles..

Talking abt sch, ya, I've cca meetings almost every wed. Yesterdae, we spent like 3-4 hrs trying to modify certain demos 4 next yr's science trail & sec 1 camp that we r gna organise... really excited on 1 hand, but the thought of doing all these stuffs made me think that there's gna be lots of time & effort? Well, who says u can achieve something without working hard 4 it? haha...

Anywae, I guess my holidays will be as boring as last yr... juz slacking the whole day... I think my 'hobby' of procrastination made me dull... lol. Well, I still continue my weekly craze of watching reality shows, like Project Runway, Survivor and of course the debut of PROJECT SUPERSTAR II!! LOL. Guess that'll take up a lot of my time?

Been slacking these few days after OP finished on thurs. Went out wif Xiao Yun & Wynne on mon. Chatted a lot abt sch life, tchers, hw etc. Felt real comfortable wif them. Felt like myself once again. Thanks lots! U made my day =)

Todae is final submission of Group Project File (GPF), or rather we can say, it is the END of PW! Felt relieved, but at the same time, worried. Conrad said my group's OP is quite disappointing. When I heard that, it's like someone stabbing at me. Felt down & upset upon hearing this piece of idiotic news.

That's y I'm feeling down.

That's it. No way I can save the situation anymore. It's over. At least I felt Chinese is way better than PW.

No mood to do anything. Not even watching TV.

Ok... it's been a boring week 4 me... Let's start wat I did from tues till now... only 3 days...

Tues... OP dry run... the last dry run, and choon tee FINALLY rehearse wif us 4 the 1st time!! Anywae, she's good, so it's pretty smooth-sailing 4 our group's presentation... Practised quite a lot of times until I'm super bored when I've to repeat the same old points again & again... *yawn*

Wed... OP rehearsal... Well, it's again the 3 of us, so we practised presenting our points & the Q & A... Personally I feel Q & A sux :x I hate that section, although I can go on & on 4 like 5 mins? Yup, also ordered McSpicy Meal 4 lunch and I dun think it's spicy at all! have fun chatting wif the rest & laughing at their lameness... lol.

Todae... OP day! Arrgh.. We are the 1st group to present, and I was kinda nervous... but after going out to present, I felt calmer and able to remember most of our points... Guess it paid off to be well-prepared.. My group rehearsed & rehearsed & rehearsed & rehearsed & rehearsed until we are comfortable wif ourselves... So we can safely say the presentation went on smoothly? haha... As usual, Q & A!! I think I'm super dissatisfied wif my performance, though it's kinda ok...

Guess these r the 2 questions the assessors asked me (may not be as accurate.. can't really recall much -_-") :

1. "You have listed 'People becoming more open-minded as one of your possible futue benefits. Why do you think so?" or something like that... I was like WTH! OMG! The assessor gave me a question that's super narrow and I can only talk about that particular point, as in how our proposals can contribute to that particular benefit!! They only drove me to a corner, where I can't escaped from.. That's not all...

2. " One of your proposals is censorship-related modules in Mass Communications in polytechnics. How has this helped students to understand and accept censorship?" I can't remember this anywae... Once again, I can only talk about 1 particular point.

Full stop. OP IS OFFICIALLY OVER. Preliminary Ideas. Group Project Proposal. Evaluation of Print/Non-Print Material. Written Report. Oral Presentation. BYE BYE! Now, I'm left wif the last one, Insights & Reflections. Finished drafting out 1st draft. Think I'll touch up some more. Dun really bother anymore.

These past few weeks are purely for entertainment =) Ya, after promos, at least, I've been watching LOTS of TV!!! I'm a self-confessed TV addict... Anyway, REALITY SHOWS ARE BACK!! Ok, what an announcement.. it's not as if no one knows -_-"" yup, changed blogskin yesterdae, but this skin will not last, i guess... it's a bit flawed... I see if there r nicer & better ones :)

hmm.. let's see what reality programmes I've been 'chasing'...

(i) Project Runway
Hmm.. I did not really 'chase' after this show, cos I guess there r other shows that clash with this? Well, I think it's really amazing that designers can really produce really beautiful clothes, I admire their capability..

(ii) Survivor: The Cook Islands
I supported the Asian team, of course =) Ohh.. nothing exciting except for the challenges.. It's already the 13th episode, but I think most episodes are pretty similar..

(iii) So you think u can dance
Ohh.. I admire their dancing!! It's fantastic!!

Todae is A lvl Chinese! Yes, it's finally over. Actually I think the paper has a similar standard as the promos, so guess passing is not a problem. The thing is, passing wif wat grade? A or B or C?? well, I'll noe next year.

Coming up next is PW - OP... Well, I hope all turn out well on next thurs... There is also an external moderator 4 my group... haha... I dunno if that's gd or bad, but we shall see.

Anywae, these days, I felt like I'm juz going thru each day, as in there's nothing special or new to look forward to... I felt nothing at all... no, I'm not emotionless... Juz that.. YES!!! Finally I received my NYAA Silver badge after 1 year!!! Can u imagine, juz getting a badge like this can take a year?? Anywae, thanks, Mr Tan, my ex-sec sch tcher 4 taking the trouble to ask NYAA council regarding the badge... but, this issue has dragged 4 a year =_=""""
